Why can't fraternities in the Philippines do away once and for all hazing procedures?

I was shocked when it came to my knowledge how American fraternities accept members (thanks to our term paper). Sobrang iba kumpara dito sa Pilipinas kung saan pwedeng buhay ang kapalit.

First of all, there is no end to negative frat behavior. Look at our society, specifically the environment in Makati. The Philippines has one of the highest crime rates in the world. Maybe this is because of its poor government discipline. Makati is also one of the highest densely populated places in the world. Therefore the government has a hard time controlling the people. Now, back to fraternity behavior, just like Makati city, frats in the Philippines have no discipline. They not only have rival frats, but some of them even pick fights with fellow frat members. This is because they think that joining frats are "cool" and you become tougher once you are in one. Now to the hazing part, consider frats as alcoholics, drug addicts, war freaks with boosting egos. How would one prove to be loyal and strong to the group... of course by beating the hell out of another neophyte. In a twisted, dark demented way, this is one procedure of showing strength to the group (Numerous people have died from this hazing). Now, I will conclude that maybe because of lack of discipline and corruption, these are the reasons why frats in the Philippines are like this. Their pride and ego eats themselves up. As long as there is corruption, mayhem, lack of discipline here in the Philippines, hazing will never go away. Maybe one day, fraternities here will be able to minimize (not stop) but minimize all the mayhem going on with frats here in the Philippines. I do believe that there are still some positive fraternities in the Philippines. All I could say is good luck. Good luck changing the negative society of fraternities. Maybe one day, these positive frats would be able to greatly lessen these ignorant behaviors, but not in this generation. All we can do is wait.
